Agenda
10:00 AM – 10:20 AM Climate Venture Talk
Speaker:Â Timothy Hoffman, Director, Columbia Technology Ventures
In this month’s keynote, Timothy Hoffman shares insights from Columbia’s frontier in deep tech and climate commercialization. His talk will explore how early-stage climate ventures are scaling out of universities, how corporate and infrastructure capital is responding, and what types of startup-institution partnerships are emerging across North America.
10:20 AM – 11:10 AM Startup Pitching
Five venture-backed climate innovators will present breakthrough solutions across clean power, battery systems, industrial decarbonization, and infrastructure resilience. Each startup will deliver an 8-minute pitch followed by 2 minutes of Q&A.
1. Pvilion - Solar-integrated fabric infrastructure for rapid deployment
Pvilion embeds flexible solar panels into lightweight shelters and structures for defense, telecom, and emergency use—replacing diesel generators with mobile, containerized clean power systems.
With U.S. Air Force contracts and DoD SBIR funding, Pvilion is expanding into EV charging, telecom resilience, and humanitarian energy deployment in vulnerable geographies.
2. Ateios Systems - Solvent-free electrode manufacturing for next-generation batteries
Ateios eliminates solvents and forever chemicals from the battery electrode process, unlocking cleaner and faster manufacturing across chemistries.Backed by Eastman Kodak and Activate, its patented RaiCureâ„¢ platform reduces COâ‚‚ emissions by 80% and enables drop-in integration with major OEMs across EV, grid storage, and wearables.
3. InfraSure - AI-powered infrastructure risk intelligence
InfraSure provides predictive risk modeling for utilities, insurers, and infrastructure owners—combining geospatial data, physics-based simulations, and sensor intelligence to anticipate failure risks weeks in advance. With backing from Techstars and Elemental Excelerator, it integrates directly into utility workflows and insurance underwriting models.
4. Capwell Services - Low-flow methane capture for oil and gas infrastructure
Capwell’s Class I Div 2-rated units capture methane from low-volume venting sources traditional systems can’t reach—making previously wasted emissions profitable to recover. DOE-supported and field-tested in U.S. basins, Capwell offers scalable, low-capex deployment with negative abatement costs.
5. ATS Energy - Waste heat to power using solid-state generator systems
ATS converts moderate-temperature industrial waste heat into electricity using modular solid-state thermoelectric cartridges—no moving parts, no emissions. Backed by OMV Petrom and an Earthshot Prize finalist, ATS is scaling in heavy industry and hyperscaler data centers, offering a path to decarbonized onsite power.
